Business confidence levels in the U.S. house-building market were up for the fifth month in a row in February, rising from 25 to 29 on the NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI) released this week, as housing sales keep rising.

According to a report by Morgan Stanley rents are rising, vacancies are falling, household formations are growing and rental supply is limited. The continue to state that they believe the demand for rental properties will continue to grow.

Sales of previously owned properties increased significantly in August, which certainly raises hopes for a swifter recovery of the USA housing market, even though house prices are still relatively low. Both home-buyers and investors were more active in August, which is mostly due to affordability, rising rent, and the wide availability of foreclosure properties.
